系统安全工程师

干了这个行业这么久,发现系统安全工程师和其他工程师不一样,除了逻辑分析能力,大学数学和相应专业知识外,它还需要很强的协调与管理能力。说白点,挺像个manager, 什么都懂点,但又不是专家,很多时候要和不同的专业技术人员如机械,化工,电子,电力,防火,能源开会和打交道,最后还要对project manager/business manager交待,甚至要说服他们或跟他们辩论。苦差啊,呵呵。

  1. We are supposed to know almost every aspect of a project while have no or litte say over any of them. This is safety professionals and I doubt,from time to time, about if it is a good choice to specilzie on safety.
    Dont know how do you feel about this professsion besides 苦差?

  2. Really depend upon what and how you define a ideal professional - your own philosophy. To be realistic, each professional has something 'good' and 'bad'. Perhaps it's fair to say that eventually each professional will need to develop communication, management and leadership skills to some extent, even though you are purely a scientist. From that point, I cannot see any difference between safety engineer and any other disciplinary engineer.

    The slight difference I can only feel about is that the safety engineer requires the holistic view of systems engineering as well as a very broad domain knowledge, which may not be required by other engineers, if we put aside the corresponding specialised knowledge such as safety engineering.

    To be honest, safety engineer was not my dream job. 阴差阳错,入错行。希望你不要跟我一样。
